The Birmingham Musculoskeletal Medicine Service aims to provide you with a single point of quick access for musculoskeletal patients requiring assessment and non-surgical management of musculoskeletal pain. By blending the comprehensive and varied skills of Orthopaedic Physicians and Extended Scope Physiotherapists we will ensure that your patient is assessed and treated by the appropriate clinician using the highest level of evidence based non-surgical management of musculoskeletal pain. We aim to keep you informed on your patients’ management throughout their pathway.

The service has seamless links with Spinal and Peripheral Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a resident Neurosurgeon. We also have access to Rheumatology, a Metabolic Bone Consultant and Pain Management services should you wish us to pursue these avenues. We have full access to a range of investigations via the Radiology department as well as links with the neurophysiologists at UHB.
