Biography

Mr Cooper is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon for The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.

He qualified in 2007 and completed initial training in the region of Wessex.  He undertook higher surgical training in the West Midlands on the Birmingham rotation, obtaining the FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2016. He is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.

Mr Cooper has completed the advanced hip surgery fellowship at The Avon Orthopaedic Centre as well as undertaking subspecialist knee fellowship training at the University Hospital Birmingham and The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. Subsequently he was appointed as the lower limb revision arthroplasty fellow, sub-specialising in managing infection within the oncology department, prior to taking up his consultant position at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.

Mr Cooper has a specialist interest in complex and revision knee and hip arthroplasty, including treating periprosthetic joint infection and periprosthetic fracture. He has published papers in the medical literature on these topics and has presented research internationally.
