Suzi Morley

Advanced Podiatric Practitioner

Suzi qualified with a first class BSc Hons Podiatry degree from Birminghma School of Podiatry in 2000.  She is a member of the HCPC and Royal College of Podiatry.  Suzi went on to take up a community podiatry post with Dudley Group of Hospitals, progressing from a band 6 podiatrist, through to team leader and eventually Advanced Podiatrist within the Podiatric Surgery Service, where she was responsible for providing skilled local anaesthesia for day case forefoot surgery, out-patients consultations and clinical audit.  Suzi has published audit in the national podiatry journal ‘Podiatry Now’.    

Suzi has over 15 years of experience of working within a foot surgery service,  alongisde consultant colleagues, nurses and other AHPs.  Suzi holds a certificate in advanced local anaesthesia and injection therapies.  She gained independant prescriber status in 2020 and gained an MSc Theory of Podiatric Surgery with distinction, in 2018.

Suzi joined The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in January 2021. She is keen to further develop her knowledge and skills in the field of foot and ankle surgery, particularly in more complex conditions as well as an interest in developing the role of the podiatrist within an orthopaedic foot and ankle service. 

Advanced Podiatric Practitioners (APPs) work within the consultant's outpatient clinics. The role includes triaging and assessing patients, requesting diagnostic imaging, preparing patients for surgery and reviewing post-operative patients. The APPs also support medical students on placement, audits, research and trainee APP mentorships.
